Today, one of the most pressing problems in European society is the decline in physical activity among schoolchildren due to the COVID-19 pandemic, which has significantly reduced children’s physical activity. Due to the military aggression in Ukraine, the project pays special attention to migrant children, including those with special educational needs, who have left Ukraine and are now living in the EU due to the Russian army’s invasion of Ukraine. That is why the project “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine” (TEAM-EU-UA) is of particular relevance today. In addition, the partner organizations represent European countries that have hosted a large number of Ukrainian migrant and refugee children. This project aims to strengthen the team spirit of schoolchildren currently living in the EU and Ukraine by introducing EU values in Ukraine.

The project will help Ukrainian schoolchildren to better adapt to the new realities and challenges they face. The project will include the creation of motivational videos, meetings with famous athletes, development of innovative forms of promoting student sports in the context of European values; webinars for future physical education teachers, thematic seminars, trainings for target groups; sports and environmental activities aimed at attracting people to sports and physical activity in third countries, promoting social integration through sports, promoting European values such as freedom, respect for human dignity, and the promotion of human rights. All the planned activities are important for schoolchildren and contribute to the development of team spirit for the realization and implementation of EU values in Ukraine.

One of the innovative approaches within the project will be the training of Ukrainian students who will be able to effectively organize various sports and recreational activities for schoolchildren (including migrant children). The educational program for training future physical education teachers will be developed on the basis of the fundamental principles of European values and will be focused on their dissemination among Ukrainian youth and children.
