International Conference within the TEAM-EU-UA Project

On 28 August 2026, the International Conference “Promoting European Sports for Migrant and Refugee Children” will be held in Brussels, Belgium, in a hybrid format. The conference is organized within the framework of the project “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine” (TEAM-EU-UA), co-funded by the European Union.
The aim of the conference is to bring together researchers, academic staff, teachers, coaches, sports specialists, representatives of educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and other stakeholders to discuss the role of sport and physical activity in supporting migrant and refugee children. Special attention will be paid to European approaches to physical education, social integration, adaptation and psychosocial support for children, as well as to the development of international cooperation and the exchange of best practices among project partners.
The conference is organized by the European School Sports Federation, the NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORTS. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji (Poland), the Ukrainian Federation of School Sports, and Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A. S. Makarenko. The event will serve as an international platform for presenting scientific research, discussing modern European practices, developing partnerships, and identifying new approaches to supporting children through education, sport, and physical activity.
The main thematic areas of the conference will include:
- features of physical education for schoolchildren under martial law conditions;
- children’s, youth and inclusive sport as a means of socialization and adaptation;
- organizational and legal foundations for the development of physical education and sport in the context of European integration.
Researchers, academic staff, teachers, coaches, postgraduate students, students, representatives of sports federations, educational institutions, non-governmental organizations, and everyone interested in the development of modern European approaches to physical education, sport, and child support are invited to participate in the conference.
Participation in the conference is free of charge. Conference materials are accepted in English in the form of abstracts of 500-600 words, prepared in accordance with the established requirements. Materials should be submitted by 10 August 2026 to the following email address: team-eu-ua@yssukraine.com. All abstracts that meet the conference requirements will be included in the conference proceedings and published on the official project website.
