Partners in the TEAM-EU-UA project discussed preparations for the international conference in Brussels

As part of the “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine” (TEAM-EU-UA) project, co-funded by the European Union, an online meeting was held between the coordinator and representatives of the partner organisations.

The agenda included preparations for the international conference “Promoting European Sports for Migrant and Refugee Children”, to be held in Brussels (Belgium), as well as a discussion of further activities and plans leading up to the end of the project’s second year.

The project coordinator — the non-governmental organisation “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE” — informed the partners of the results of the call for conference papers. The organising committee received over 40 abstracts from representatives of more than seven European countries. The submitted papers cover topical issues relating to the development of school sport, the integration of migrant and refugee children through physical education, ensuring equal access to sporting activities, and the promotion of shared European values.

The wide geographical spread of participants and the diversity of topics presented demonstrate significant international interest in the conference’s subject matter. The event is set to become an important platform for professional dialogue, the exchange of experience and the dissemination of effective European practices for the social integration of children through sport.

Representatives of the European School Sports Federation presented the events planned in Brussels, the organisational vision and the arrangements for holding the conference. Particular attention was paid to the event programme, the format for presenting the project’s results, and the organisation of the TEAM-EU-UA consortium’s working meeting.

Representatives of all the project’s partner organisations took part in the online meeting:

• European School Sports Federation (Belgium);
• Instytut Rozwoju Sportu i Edukacji (Poland);
• NGO “Ukrainian School Sports Federation” (Ukraine);
• A. S. Makarenko Sumy State Pedagogical University (Ukraine).

Hosting this international conference is a key stage in the implementation of the TEAM-EU-UA project. It will help to present the project’s results at European level, strengthen international partnerships and develop joint initiatives aimed at promoting the values of inclusion, equality, mutual respect and solidarity through school sport.

At the end of the meeting, the partners agreed on the next organisational steps, allocated tasks and discussed the activities planned for the remainder of the second year of the TEAM-EU-UA project.
