Transnational meeting in Brussels: exchange of experiences, coordination of actions, and promotion of European values

On July 10-11, 2025, a transnational meeting of partners of the project “Development of Team Spirit for the Implementation and Incorporation of EU Values in Ukraine” (TEAM-EU-UA), co-funded by the European Union, took place in Brussels, Belgium.

The main objective of the meeting was to agree on further actions for the implementation of the project, discuss the results of the activities already carried out, monitor the dissemination plan, evaluate the effectiveness of the partners’ activities, and strategically plan the next stages.
The event was organized by the European School Sports Federation and featured presentations by:
Stelios Daskalakis, Secretary General, emphasized the importance of the project for shaping European values through sport and education. Gorica Bilak, Sports Director, presented the current aspects of the project implementation and shared best practices. Miloš Zirić, project coordinator, outlined the key stages of the initiative’s implementation and its impact on the development of partnership cooperation.

The Ukrainian side was represented by:
NGO “YOUTH. SCIENCE. SPORT. HEALTHY MOVEMENT OF UKRAINE”, Ukrainian federation of school sports, Sumy State Pedagogical University named after A.S. Makarenko.
Project coordinator Iaroslav Galan presented the activities carried out within the project, the main achievements and challenges in the implementation of the initiative, and emphasized the importance of such meetings for strengthening the capacity of Ukrainian organizations in the European context.

Partners from Poland – INSTYTUT ROZWOJU SPORTU I EDUKACJI – also took an active part in the meeting, coordinated by Piotr Kociszewski. Representatives of the institute shared their experience of participating in international sports and education projects and supported the idea of integrating European values through cross-sectoral cooperation.

The visit also included a visit to the European Parliament, where participants took part in a lecture on the values of the European Union and their significance for partner countries, in particular Ukraine.

The participants paid a familiarization visit to the European Commission, a key EU institution that provides funding for education and youth projects, including Erasmus+. A symbolic photo was taken, and informal discussions were held on the role of the European Commission in supporting Ukraine.

Anna Greba, Yulia Bondarenko, Iaroslav Galan, and Anastasia Komerzan, who represented the Ukrainian partner organizations of the project, took part in this initiative.
The meeting ended with the unfurling of the Erasmus+ Ukraine flag as a symbol of unity, partnership, and Ukraine’s active participation in the European educational space.

The meeting in Brussels took place in a constructive atmosphere, contributing to a deeper understanding of the role of each partner and strengthening teamwork for the effective implementation of European values in Ukraine through sport, education, and the active participation of young people.
